Exhibitions can be a treat for the ears as well as the eyes, according to the Craft Council.

Audiences are invited to the Stanley Picker Gallery to see what happens when craft practice and sound art collide in works that demand you listen as well as look.

Seven works with processes such as weaving and woodturning to create sound have been selected and a host of other sounds from materials will also be revealed.

Artists involved in the project include Max Eastley, Keith Harrison, Cathy Lane, Owl Project, Scanner & Isimini Samanidou, Studio Weave and Dominic Wilcox & Yuri Suzuki.

Jackie Thomas, Stanley Picker Gallery coordinator, says: “I imagine the work will be very dramatic.”

The touring exhibitors have already taken their showcase around Scotland, hitting venues in Kinguisse, Wick and Inverness.

Craft Council have enrolled David Topp, Professor of Audio Culture and Improvisation at University of the Arts, London, as curatorial advisor and Faudet-Harrison, Lecturers at Kingston University as exhibition designers.
