The Oxshott Art and Crafts Society will return to Denbies Wine Estate Gallery this month.

There will be a wide variety of art and craft work, and even the chance to shop, at the event where visitors can view paintings, photographs, art glass, ceramics, jewellery and creations in wood.

The Oxshott Society will run a programme of demonstrations and talks throughout the exhibition, which will cover art and crafts.

Painter Dorothea Kramer Jones, who will be featured in the exhibition, took part in the Surrey Artists Open Studios in June and was delighted when the winner of the event’s prize draw decided to claim one of her mixed media landscape paintings as his prize.

The purchaser had originally seen her work at the spring exhibition of the Oxshott Art and Crafts Society.

She says: “It was a great compliment that of all the 140 Studios taking part in the Open Studios event, the prize draw winner chose to come to my garden studio in Oxshott to select a painting.”

Wood artist Roger Marsden’s work is a popular artist at the Oxshott Art and Crafts Society exhibitions.

The Cobham resident has been turning wood for more than 15 years and regularly exhibits as part of the Surrey Artists Open Studios and is currently chairman of the society.
