Multi-platinum selling mezzo-soprano, Katherine Jenkins, is set to open this year’s Derby celebrations.
The 31-year-old, who has sold over five million albums, will be performing the national anthem before the Queen at the Investec Derby Festival 2012 in June, the first engagement of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
She will sing alongside the band of HM Royal Marines.
The event, held at Epsom Downs Racecourse since 1780, will take place on Saturday, June 2 and is expected to draw crowds of over 125,000.
The Investec Derby Festival takes place over Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2.
Tickets for the Investec Derby Festival start from £45 if purchased before May 1.
