Hugh Jackman has said he and Michael Fassbender liked to dance to the Robin Thicke hit Blurred Lines between X-Men takes - but they preferred to play the part of the music video's women.

The actors star as superheroes in X-Men: Days Of Future Past and revealed how they liked to relax between filming demanding scenes.

Hugh told The Sun: "Michael was particularly enamoured with the video to Blurred Lines. Which version? I think we all know what one... he was very taken."

He revealed that they danced like the women in the song's video, but would still be dressed as their characters Wolverine and Magneto.

"I used to play the song in between takes on the X-Men set. It was a lot of fun. Everyone would just go into character and we'd be strutting around. It was identical to the video but we'd be mutants," he said.

The Les Miserables star said he had also been impressed by co-star James McAvoy's vocal range: "I didn't need to take the high bits. You'd be surprised what talented singers Michael and James are. They could get up there."

Hugh added that more of the cast, including Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, would get involved too, and that he enjoyed a drink with his colleagues at the end of a hard day's filming.

He said: "Michael, James and I. That's a Scot, an Irishman and an Aussie. There is no greater team."

X-Men: Days Of Future Past is due to be released in cinemas on May 22.
