Horror junkies can sit back and scream in atmospheric surroundings at Strawberry Hill House as its gothic film season gets under way.
With Halloween just around the corner, spooky film buffs will be able to enjoy classic scary movies at Horace Walpole’s gothic castle.
The gothic film season begins on October 10 with a showing of the 1925 version of the Phantom of the Opera which later inspired Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famous musical.
The silent film will be accompanied live on the piano by pianist Wendy Hiscocks who has composed a soundtrack for the evening.
For Halloween, guests are encouraged to dress up, bring props and sing along to the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
And the gothic season will be brought to a close with a special double bill on November 14.
A short film version of Horace Walpole’s the Castle of Otranto will be shown, followed by Tim Burton’s the Nightmare Before Christmas.
Prior to the showings on the October 10 and November 14 there will be opportunity to book a tour of the house, the home of Strawberry Gothic.
All the films will be shown in the Waldegrave Drawing Room at 7.45pm, with tours of the house at 6.30pm.
