A CANCER care charity is asking people to turn pounds of weight gained over the Christmas period into £'s by taking part in a sponsored Slimathon.

The Marie Curie Cancer Care charity is trying to raise money for nurses in Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire who provide practical home nursing care and support for people seriously ill with cancer, and their families. The care is free of charge to the patients and their families.

Anne Dodds, Area Fundraiser, said: "By joining the Slimathon you could be heading for a new way of life which will bring improved health and more vitality. While helping yourself you will also be supporting the local Marie Curie Cancer Care nurses."

To take part, ask friends, work colleagues and family for sponsorship, and phone or fax for an application form on (01908) 616990
