Vuvuzelas are not the only South African export trying to make a name for themselves on these shores following the World Cup.
But don't worry, Guy Buttery's sound is a lot more comfortable on the ears than the constant monotonous drone of the big plastic trumpets.
The guitarist is huge in his native country, having just won Best Instrumental Album for 2010 at the South African Music Awards, and returns to the UK for the first time in two years to perform at The Half Moon on Wednesday.
The award was given for his third and latest album, Fox Hill Lane, which also gained in him a three-page spread in an edition of the world's biggest guitar-related publication, Guitar Player Magazine.
Buttery's songs are often inspired by the beauty of his home town KwaZulu Natal, where he began playing music on a handed down guitar that had belonged to his older brother.
Soon he also had a mandolin and a sitar and began to master the fingerstyle style of playing, creating a unique hybrid technique in which he uses both hands on the fret board.
Guy Buttery, THe Half Moon, Lower Richmond Road, August 4, 8pm, £7. Call 020 8780 9383 or visit halfmoon.co.uk.
