Good cooking: Richmond College students
Hix restaurant chefs Kevin Gratton and Ronnie Murray gave Richmond College students a first class lesson in cooking.
The chefs from one of the country’s top restaurant chain and level 2 VRQ catering students whipped up a mouth-watering dinner at the college’s Merits restaurant on January 16.
Mr Gratton, the group head chef at Hix, and Mr Murray, the group head pastry chef, prepared a three course feast of fillet of tub gurnard with Isle of Barra cockles and sea radish, rump of red deer with beetroot sauce and chocolate cake with sea buckthorn sorbet.
A Richmond College spokesman said: “The dinner was part of an educational link-up between Merits training restaurant and the Hix restaurant group. It is now hoped that the catering students will assist on site at a Hix restaurant in the near future.”
