Sleeping Beauty marks theatre's 86th production
7:00am Sunday 3rd February 2013 in Leisure By Lauren May, Chief Reporter
A production of Sleeping Beauty will mark the Colour House Theatre’s 86th show.
Originally written as a fairy tale and published by Charles Perrault in 1697 and later made into an animated Disney film in 1959, the magical tale of Sleeping Beauty has enchanted dozens of generations.
Relive this classic story of a princess who, cursed by the evil green fairy, is doomed to die should she ever prick her finger on a spindle. However a good fairy transforms the curse to instead send the Princess Aurora to sleep forever after just one prick.
The King and Queen banish all spinning wheels from the palace, but on her fifteenth birthday Princess Aurora pricks her finger and falls into a deep slumber.
Her only hope of waking is if a handsome prince can save her.
