He says: "Our area has become divided.

"Over the past five years the richest have seen their wealth soar, while local workers have suffered the longest and most severe decline in wages since the 1860s.

"Young people struggle to find jobs and have seen their rents rise dramatically. The idea that they might own their own home locally seems a distant dream.

"Demand for Kingston foodbank has doubled in the last year alone. For one of the richest suburbs in the world this shames us all.

"I believe we need a change of heart and a change of approach. All of us contribute to the success of our local community and we should all share in the rewards.

"The Lib Dems betrayed local residents and especially our young people. As a result their vote has plummeted to such an extent that they can’t win here any more. This will be a straight fight between Labour and the Tories.

"If you would prefer a Labour government, don’t vote for a different Party, hoping for the best, only to end up with the Tories. Vote positively. Vote Labour."
