A Kingston university student was convicted at Kingston Magistrates' Court on Thursday of driving without a licence and insurance.
Isaac Odoi said he was "only using the car to move house" when police arrested him in June.
Odoi, a civil engineering student, was ordered to pay £70 for driving without a licence and was given a £200 fine and six points on his licence for having no insurance.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £70.
