A 15 year old Surrey girl with a severe neurological condition had her dreams made when she got to meet her pop idol – and ask him about his availability!

Tia-Grace, from Carshalton, got her early Christmas present in the form of a meeting with musician Olly Murs.

Tia-Grace was diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optica in February 2011, a rare neurological condition which affects the vision and movement in limbs.

As a result of her condition, Tia-Grace has to take medication daily and take regular trips to hospital for check-ups.

The event was organised by the Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity and various children attended the event where they got to ask Olly questions and sing with the star.

When Tia-Grace was given the chance to ask the pop star a question, she asked ‘do you have a girlfriend?’ to which Olly revealed he didn’t have one.

Sandra, Tia-Grace’s mother, said: “Tia-Grace had the most amazing day, Olly was fabulous & certainly brought out her million watt smile when he sang and danced with her.

“Rays of Sunshine have put so much magic into Tia-Grace's life since we became aware of the charity. They have somehow given us the strength to carry on and certainly uplifted Tia-Grace so much that she now leaves a little trace of sparkle wherever she goes.”

Olly Murs said: “I love being an ambassador for Rays of Sunshine and meeting so many fantastic families and children, just like Tia-Grace. It was a pleasure to chat to her and spending time getting to know her more.”
