Kingston Grammar School pupils took part in the three peaks challenge - climbing the three highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in just over 24 hours to help build a toilet in Ghana.
Eight Year 11 and Year 12 students took on Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon accompanied by three members of staff on June 21 raising £5,000 for the Sacred Heart School in Ghana, which does not have a functioning toilet for its 150 students.
Mountaineers Lewis Wales, Angus Nicholds, Arthur King, Harry McGregor, Emma Ryan, Charlie Sanford, Leo Malka and Daniel Savvides will travel to Ghana later this month to help build the new sanitation block.
Neil Mackay, the school’s director of outdoor education, said the sum raised was "as impressive a testament to the eight students’ efforts as the scaling of the three highest peaks”.
