Customers who visited a Kingston town centre brothel were made to wait outside a gated development before they were snuck in for some action in one of the luxury flats.

Police raided the suspected brothel in Seven Kings Way last week, where flats start from £300,000.

No punters were there when they stormed the unlocked flat at 7.30pm on Thursday, June 12.

Four women including two Chinese women were arrested.

After the early evening raid neighbours expressed surprise at the brothel on their doorstep.

Seven Kings Way resident Robert Pinkerton, 69, said: "I haven’t seen anything unusual. It is quite quiet around here.

"My guess is that they are call girls and people call them up. There’s no cars parked around here or anything."

A resident who did not want to be named said: "There are a lot of children around here. If it did go on, it was very discreet."

Another said: "I am surprised - in Kingston? You could just go down to London if you really wanted."

A 24-year-old Chinese woman was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the control of prostitution and overstaying her visa. She has since been bailed to report back to police in the middle of August.

Another 37-year-old was arrested for entering the country illegally.

They have been told to report back to the Home Office while their cases are pending. No further action has been taken with the other two women arrested.

Sergeant Eddie Armstrong, Kingston police licensing and immigration liaison officer, said: "Following reports of a brothel operating in this location we reacted quickly to clarify the venue and conduct a visit.

"Our priority was to ensure the safety of the girls working in the premises and to arrest those people controlling such activities."
