The prospect of commuting through Kingston will be less off-putting by tomorrow, after Kingston Council announced roadworks around College Roundabout will be completed earlier than predicted.
Work by Thames Water to install sewage and water services to student flats at 1 Penrhyn Road will be completed by tomorrow, June 4, with roads around the roundabout fully re-opened by 6am on Thursday.
It was previously thought work could take until Sunday.
The council said: “The works are finishing slightly earlier owing to a change in the technical requirements at the site.
"This meant the design could be revised and the works completed sooner than anticipated.”
However, the dreaded traffic restrictions will return early on Sunday and remain until 3pm to allow a crane to be removed from the site.
