Police have turned up a new lead in the search for Tolworth pensioner John Harding, who has been missing for nearly ten days.

Mr Harding, 82, who has dementia, diabetes and high blood pressure, went missing on Saturday, April 26.

After days of searching, officers trawling through CCTV footage glimpsed Mr Harding in two frames captured by the rear camera of a K1 bus.

The footage was taken at 7.06pm in Tolworth Rise South, on the day he went missing.

Det Insp Simon Day said: "We know that he walked down an alleyway that leads to Barnsbury Lane.

"Extensive CCTV enquiries have picked up John walking down that alleyway.

"Literally about two frames, you can see him walking that way."

The Metropolitan Police said today Mr Harding left his phone, wallet and bus pass at home after telling his wife he was going for a walk.

They appealed to drivers who may have passed the Tolworth roundabout on April 26 to make contact if they remember seeing Mr Harding walking in the area.

He is white, with short white hair and a mole on his forehead. He was last seen wearing a brown three-quarter length coat, a checked jumper and navy blue trousers.

Anyone who sees Mr Harding is urged to call police on 999.
