The peak of yesterday's heavy rain in Surrey should hit the river Mole in Leatherhead later today, the Environment Agency has warned.
At 11am today the river level was recorded as 2.8m - well above its normal range of between 1.01m and 2.4m.
A flood warning remains in place for the Mole at Leatherhead and Fetcham.
The Agency said: ""Flooding of low lying land and roads is expected.
"River levels are currently expected to peak again at Sidlow and Dorking during Saturday morning and at Cobham towards Saturday evening.
"If any further significant rainfall falls overnight, some property flooding could be possible.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and have teams on the ground working to reduce obstructions and maintain flood defences."
It comes after a week of heavy rainfall across south-west London and Surrey, accompanied by gale force winds last night of up to 70mph.
Fallen trees have been reported on the railway line at Banstead and at Hook Road in Epsom, which was cordoned off by police this morning.
